Apollo Group earns prestigious
award for Go Green campaign
On September 6th, Apollo Group / University of Phoenix was presented with the Crescordia Award at Valley Forward’s 28th Annual Environmental Excellence Awards program, Arizona’s oldest and most prestigious competition focusing exclusively on sustainability initiatives. The Crescordia Award, which is the highest honor within the Environmental Education and Communication category, was received for the company’s Go Green initiatives.
Valley Forward is a 39-year-old association based in Phoenix that brings local business and civic leaders together to convene thoughtful public dialogue on regional issues and to improve the environment and livability of Arizona communities. With a record number of entries this year, it is an honor for Apollo Group and University of Phoenix to be recognized for their commitment to the environment.
The Go Green campaign featured the company-wide Go Green Challenge, a comprehensive communication program that was created to help our staff understand their impact on the environment. The Challenge also provided our team with the tools needed to succeed in adopting long-term sustainable living practices.
As an institution of higher learning, it is important that we educate ourselves and our students, today, about our role in being environmental stewards of tomorrow. While we have taken an incredible step to embrace sustainability through the Go Green Challenge, our journey on the path to becoming environmentally responsible is just beginning.
