Environmental Goal: Significantly Reduce Commuter Travel Emissions*

Environmental Objective—Commuter and Fleet Emissions Reduction

  1. Environmental Objective: Reduce environmental impact through commuter reduction programs.
  2. Performance Update:
    • 2008 - Improved commuter reduction program through intranet and email promotion campaign to increase use of mass transit and to promote carpool/vanpool usage.
    • Added designated carpool parking spaces to increase carpool participation at all Phoenix locations.
    • 2009 - Installed bicycle rack at Phoenix headquarters buildings to encourage alternative transportation and provided lockers for bicyclist at Phoenix Riverpoint buildings.
    • 2009 - Provided three solar golf carts for security staff.
    • 2009 - Established Apollo shuttle at 21 Phoenix buildings to provide transportation between campus facilities to reduce meeting commutes and provide transportation for those who use mass transit.
    • 2010 - Expanded Apollo Shuttle service for designated hours to public bus stop for bus route that connects to light rail in proximity of Phoenix buildings. Goal is to facilitate staff use of light rail for staff in the 21 Phoenix locations serviced by Apollo Shuttle.
