Environmental Education Goal: Provide Scholarship Opportunities For Environmental Education*

A. Environmental Objective—College Environmental Degrees

  1. Environmental Objective: Award scholarships to high school students in conjunction with Earth Day Network partnership.
  2. Performance Update: In 2010, began process of awarding six full-tuition scholarships to deserving high school students across the country to pursue degrees (either for BS in Environmental Science or BS in Business with concentration in Green and Sustainable Enterprise Management) at University of Phoenix.

B. Environmental Objective—K-12 Educators

  1. Environmental Objective: Award scholarship to K-12 educators who have demonstrated a commitment to incorporating environmental education in their classrooms.
  2. Performance Update: In 2010 planning began with Valley Forward Association, to develop scholarships in conjunction with Valley Forward’s EarthFest Educator’s Night event. The objective is to award, later in 2010, two full-tuition scholarships to K-12 teachers in Arizona to pursue their Master’s of Education degree.
