Go Green Challenge: Madison Campus Encourages Entire Community to Become More Environmentally Friendly

University of Phoenix‘s Madison campus was one of the only academic institutions to sponsor the “Isthmus Green Day” event at the Monona Terrace Exhibit Hall last month. More than 2,500 people roamed the floor in search of sustainable ways to build a more eco-friendly community. Hundreds of exhibitors offered everything from insulation, flooring and solar-tube lighting, to organic food and local farm resources; from the hottest bikes and accessories, to hydrogen-powered transport.

Volunteers from the Madison campus were on hand at the University’s booth to provide tips on easy and inexpensive ways for businesses and households to become more environmentally conscious, recognize the importance and relevance of sustainable living, and provide resources to make that lifestyle a reality. Isthmus is a weekly alternative newspaper serving the Madison community.
